Trump after his conversation with Xi: A very positive conclusion and an invitation to exchange visits

US President Donald Trump announced that the phone call he had with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, led to a “very positive conclusion,” noting that each of them invited the other to visit his country.

Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social: “The call lasted about an hour and a half, and produced a very positive conclusion for the benefit of both countries.”

He also noted that trade officials from both parties will meet “soon.”

He also added, “President Xi graciously invited me and the First Lady to visit China, and I did the same. As presidents of two great nations, this is something we both look forward to doing.”

For his part, the Chinese President stressed during his telephone discussions with his American counterpart the need to “correct the course” of bilateral relations, according to the official Xinhua News Agency.

Xi told Trump, “Correcting the course of the great ship of China-US relations requires us to firmly hold the rudder and determine the direction, especially removing all forms of interference and even destruction.”
