Sudanese army commander in Babanusa: We will not negotiate and we will not surrender.. We will fight until victory
Major General Muawiyah Hamad Abdullah, commander of the Sudanese army in the city of Babanusa in West Kordofan State (south), revealed on Friday that “the city is fine,” stressing: “We in the 22nd Infantry Division will not negotiate, surrender, or withdraw, but rather we will continue fighting until victory is achieved.”
Major General Abdullah added, in a statement issued by the leadership of the 22nd Infantry Division in Babanusa, that the city is “stable” and that their division is “firm and will remain steadfast in the face of enemies.”
Abdullah pointed out that any attempt to approach the city of Babanusa will face harsh consequences, saying: “The fate of whoever tries to approach Babanusa is death.”
On Wednesday, the city of Babanusa witnessed renewed violent clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, using heavy and light weapons and drones. In recent days, the Sudanese army responded to several large-scale attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces on the city using artillery shelling, drones, and combat vehicles.
On November 8, the Rapid Support Forces in West Kordofan State announced their readiness to fight for control of the city of Babanusa and defeat the Sudanese army.
At the same time, the Sudanese army continues to drop supplies to support its forces inside the besieged city, which is under continuous attacks from the Rapid Support Forces, which have been besieging the city since January 2024.
It should be noted that the three states of Kordofan (North, West, and South) have been witnessing fierce clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces for days. The conflict broke out in April 2023 due to disagreements over the transitional phase, leading to a severe humanitarian crisis in Sudan, resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of people and the displacement of about 13 million.
