Manchester City captain De Bruyne chooses Napoli as his next destination

Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne, captain of Manchester City, has settled on his next destination after leaving the English club at the end of the current season.

Reliable Italian journalist and player transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that De Bruyne (33 years old) is ready to sign his new contract with Napoli, which won the Italian League title for the fourth time in its history.

Romano explained through his official Instagram account that De Bruyne’s contract with Napoli extends for 3 years, in addition to a special signing bonus amounting to 10 million euros.

In the first two seasons, De Bruyne will receive a net annual salary of 6 million euros, which will decrease to 5 million in the final season of the contract.

De Bruyne’s transfer to the southern Italian team will be free, given that the player’s contract with his former team will expire on the last day of next June.

De Bruyne prefers to move to Napoli despite receiving offers from other clubs, most notably the Chicago Fire, a competitor in the American Professional League (MLS).

The Italian “Football Italia” website revealed that De Bruyne’s choice of Napoli is not purely sporting, but for emotional and humanitarian reasons.
